Identifying a genetic cause is important for that individual’s healthcare, and that of their family. It enables accurate genetic counselling, including discussion of reproductive choices. Significant advances have been made in identifying genes that are involved in the developing heart and congenital heart disease, and research has moved away from single family studies towards genetic sequencing of large cohorts. This will bring new challenges for clinicians and researchers related to data sharing and incidental findings. In the future, we hope that new treatments can be developed based on our understanding of the complex genetic networks underlying development of the heart. It still affects 110,000 children around the world. It has a wide spectrum of presentation which ranges from silent viremia to spontaneous abortions, blindness, deafness, congenital heart disease, and mental retardation. JUNIPER PUBLISHERS - OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL OF CARDIOLOGY & CARDIOVASCULAR THERAPY   Abstract We are reporting a case of bilateral haemorrhagic ovarian cyst with pericarditis with atrial septal defect (ASD) in a 32 years female. Diagnosis of ASD was incidental when she was under evaluation for bilateral haemorrhagic ovarian cyst. Diagnosis was confirmed by echocardiography. During closure of ASD, pericardium was not used for patch closure because pericardium was full of multiple small nodules which was a suspected case of tubercular pericarditis, patient had also bilateral ovarian cyst which was suspected due to TB. ASD was closed by using Polytetrafluroethylene (PTFE) patch. Pericardium was sent for histopathology and report was chronic pericarditis. Clinical Profile and Outcome of Infective Endocarditis in a Tertiary Care Centre: Retrospective Study-Juniper Publishers

JUNIPER PUBLISHERS - OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL OF CARDIOLOGY & CARDIOVASCULAR THERAPY Abstract Objective: This study was conducted to outline the clinical profile and outcomes of infective endocarditic (IE). It provides a contemporary picture of the presentation, etiology and outcomes of IE. Methods: A total of 97 consecutive cases of definitive IE who met the modified Duke’s definitive criteria were included in the study. We analysed their clinic-epidemiologic features and outcomes. Results: The mean age was 34.8±14.6 years with male preponderance (57.7%). Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) (29.8%) was the commonest underlying cause followed by congenital heart disease (CHD) (20.6%). Fever as the main clinical feature was seen in 95.8%. About 61.8% of patients were in New York Heart Association (NYHA) class II.
