Combined Percutaneous Intervention of Coronary Artery Disease and Atrial Septal Defect-Juniper Publishers

JUNIPER PUBLISHERS - OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL OF CARDIOLOGY & CARDIOVASCULAR THERAPY Abstract We report a case of successful combined percutaneous intervention in a middle aged female with coronary artery disease (CAD) and atrial septal defect (ASD). The case demonstrates the feasibility and safety of performing combined PTCA and ASD device closure in selected patients. Successful combined procedure obviates the need for major surgery and repeated hospitalizations and an effective alternative for patients at high surgical risk.
