The symptoms are attributed to an aberrant right subclavian artery that has a retroesophageal course leading to vascular compression of the esophagus. Dysphagia lusoria is an uncommon anomaly and even rarer cause of symptoms. However, when symptomatic and occurring in conjunction with similar presenting conditions, it can create a diagnostic and treatment challenge [1]. It caused 1 of every 6 deaths in the United States in 2008 [1]. It is also the major contributor to heart failure (HF) which has become a burgeoning disease. According to American Heart Association (AHA) projections, HF prevalence will increase by 46% from 2012 to 2030 [2].
